IMG_0993We believe everyone sees her height but many also can’t help but notice her very focused and quiet demeanor for a young lady in 2016; “We Salute” the invaluable contribution of Semesha Corea who was attached to our social enterprise from the Y.E.S program (March 2015 – March 2016) an initiative of the Ministry of National Mobilization, Youth and Community Development which is administered by the Youth Affairs Department SVG.

Semesha is very passionate about her pets especially “milo” her kitten also health, nutrition and of course her natural hai.

A young woman on the rise; an avid lover & player of basketball, very creative with her hands from her school and college years at St. Joseph Convent Kingstown and SVG Community College respectively.

2015-03-30 16.29.28Semesha says her passion for entrepreneurship kick started as she made handicraft and accessory items inclusive bow ties and hair pieces for females topped with fashion jewelry some time ago.

She also developed the love for digital media and would always been seen videotaping special occasions at school home or in the community groups she volunteered with including Caribbean Youth Environment Network (SVG Chapter) where she now holds the portfolio of National Coordinator.

C.S. Inc and Semesha has collaborated and benefited tremendously from this one-year attachment with us as she managed the portfolio of Projects Coordinator and as a result she has recently been appointed an interim Director, nevertheless to everything there is a season and this stint came to an end on March 31st 2016.

We thank the Ministry of Youth for granting us this period with an intern who was able to use their skills to give support to our new social enterprise and likewise gain substantial experiences.

Semesha being a graduate of the entrepreneurship program of SVGCC decided from inception one of her goals was to create a start-up business a dream she had close to her heart from some years.

2015-08-07 10.36.47Within five months working under the supervision of Amb. Dr Ashley .C. John a social entrepreneur, the founder\Executive Director of C.S.Inc she was able to receive training, mentorship and tangible support to formally register her new business Edge Media Centre. She has been given both local and regional exposure thanks to our regional partner Caribbean Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Livelihoods (Coesl) based in Barbados.

One of the core objectives of our social enterprise and its multilateral partners is to continuously promote a social enterprise culture, piloting innovative programs to address youth unemployment through enterprise development, build the capacity of young people to gain decent jobs and to start\manage their own businesses.

IMG_2557In April 2015 just on the heels of joining our non-profit company Semesha was selected to participate in the inaugural Caribbean Entrepreneurship Challenge hosted by Global Leadership Coalition and 1M1B in partnership with CoESL.

She was able to receive three rigorous days fast track training in entrepreneurship best practices and also had the opportunity to network with regional entrepreneurs, this ended with her meeting her first global business pitch who she handled commendably with such little experience.

S Inc.

Semesha was impressive as stated by Ambassador Dr. Clive Richards of Bumandi and Ichange Nations USA, who then found it quite fitting to appoint her as an Ichange Nations Global Ambassador and a recipient of the Golden Rule Award 2015.

Additionally, her business coped the award for best product Cultural Industries and Services 2015 by COESL and partners.

IMG_2176This year 2016 to ice the cake Semesha was selected as the Alternate Focal Point for Civil Society Organisations in SVG; a pilot program being administered by the Caribbean Policy Development Centre (CPDC) and funded by the Common Wealth Program, as e member for the inaugural Caribbean Civil Society Consultative Working Group. (CCWG).

IMG_2417During her period with C.S. Inc Semesha was taught how to multitask and how to become an effective leader. She has been continuously using these traits and her love for digital media to share with other young recipients and is often seen being part of the Team Biz-Hub in all our project activities.

IMG_0997Recently Ms. Corea gave a resounding pitch of her business Edge Media Centre at a meet and greet session hosted by Legacee Marketing and Advertising. Semesha has appeared on several interviews with NBC Radio SVG sharing about our sustainable development programs and project activities.

Edge Media Centre has produced several documentaries for C.S. Inc, inclusive “We Salute and now Road to Victory for the new program SVG Innovative Entrepreneurship Challenge, which seeks to prepare, promote and celebrate entrepreneurs across SVG and is open to global entrepreneurship as well.

IMG_2282This time we don’t get to say good bye because Semesha has committed to a continuous working relationship with C. S. Inc and will help to strengthen the multilateral partnerships C.S. Inc is seeking to build over the next three years.

Semesha is proof that we should continue to invest in our young people tangibly with in-kind technical assistance and capital to aid in them receiving the needed resources to become successful citizens earning a sustainable livelihood and generating wealth and employment for others in the community.

She always reminisces that these steps she took came with great sacrifice and she gave up her previous job to pursue her vision, she was willing to accept less income now, to gain more knowledge, exposure and promotion.

IMG_2180Semesha had to stretch out her comfort zone and this stage we are confident to say she has performed credibly and has shown tremendous growth and personal development during her one-year stint with us, which was abruptly cut.

This she reflected on as she was one of the members of our team who assisted the Youth Affairs Department in 2015 when they conducted several Exit sessions where C.S. Inc facilitated sessions on Re-positioning Yourself”.

Nevertheless, she was preparing to transition and is now very much ready to take on her entrepreneurship journey by developing the film industry in St. Vincent & the Grenadines as one of her medium term goals.

We would encourage other businesses across SVG to give young people an opportunity to gain much valued on the job training skills and experience via internships.

IMG_2143Constructive Solutions Inc. is very much willing to collaborate in this process so we can produce much more successful youth stories and livelihoods across SVG. We are truly thankful for all her loyalty and hard work, her dedication and attention to detail.
